• Each session takes about 30 minutes, and you walk our looking better than when you came in – bright, radiant skin.

• No discomfort or burning – the sensation when you are being treated is somewhere between massage oil and very mild warmth or tingling. Select patients who have very sensitive or dehydrated skin may experience a sensation more towards spicy, but this is uncommon. 

• No embarrassing / unsightly frosting or sheeting – Micronized Exfoliation(TM) is effectively invisible, so life can continue uninterrupted. Micronized Exfoliation(TM) is an acceleration of the natural process of sloughing at the cellular level. Exfoliation will show up as a superficial, ’dusty’ feel to the skin during the daily care regimen, as well as pilling (formation of small balls) when moisturizer is initially applied. Some people may experience zone-specific, controlled flaking if they have persistent dry spots in their complexion, a thick stratum corneum, or heavily glycated skin. In these cases, the controlled flaking can be easily addressed with a simple fingertip massage of the affected area in the shower, and a moderately vigorous drying with a clean, dry towel. 

• Value-for-performance is off the charts. The baseline treatment is 4 treatments on a weekly interval. Minimum advertised price for 4 treatments, including the two term-quality home protocol products, is $1,000. Many clinics use $1000 because Chrysalis is still highly profitable even at this ‘door buster’ price point. $1,100-$1,200 is not uncommon, and some price the sequence at up to $1,400 (typically Plastics, Derms or MedSpas in exclusive trading areas).

• Results last 6 months. The “floor” on skin condition will have been raised (noticeably improved), but without follow-up it will gradually start to return towards the patients age & maintenance-appropriate condition. This is not like a neurotoxin that just “stops working.” The patient can either do single treatment “touch up” sessions at 4-8 week intervals, or repeat the 4-treatment sequence at 6 months. We recommend doing the “annual intensive” (series of 4), and selling them another package of 4 for touch ups as desired with the home protocol products for use in the 3-5 days post treatment. That keeps them coming back and encourages engagement on other treatments / modalities.

• Chrysalis can legitimately be done over lunch or a break

• Traditional peels are painful to receive, and the unsightly peeling, flaking and frosting interrupt the normal cadence of life. 

• Chrysalis is a true medium-depth peel – it steers clear of the typical “performance trap” of treatments that get to “no down time” by buffering or modulating stimulation down to a mild / superficial level that is significantly below what a patient might expect, or omitting a function typically associated with the benefits of a peel (such as resurfacing).

• Week 1: Deep hydration & more supple skin. Softening of wrinkles. Calming, brightening & smoothing (‘glass skin lite’) Active acne or rosacea will show improvement before they are off the treatment bed.

• Day of treatment – Makeup can be reapplied post-treatment but we recommend simple SPF & mascara / lipstick touch-up, avoid heavy coverage so skin can breathe. For evening cleanse, use water only to cleanse face, very mild makeup remover if necessary. Apply Q.Supreme moisturizer after to dry skin.

• Supreme daily face moisturizer – rich yet not greasy, naturally mild scent goes on the vanity, use in AM & PM

• Eye/Q.Illume Daytime Hydrator – goes in purse, can be applied over makeup (dab on so you don’t smear). Use as needed during the day for hydration, and to relieve a dry or tight sensation in the treatment area.

After final treatment, continue with Home protocol for 3-5 days, and then they can resume their normal daily care regimen.

• Neothesis (vials) must be stored refrigerated and protected from direct exposure to light. Everything else — Q.Pure pH prep (DO NOT SUBSTITUTE), Iconiq (dropper bottle) and all skin care in the protocol are shelf stable.

• Treatment area for a facial is from the hairline above the forehead to the clavicle. For body treatments, use the surface area as a guide for what a treatment unit will cover – note that the body typically absorbs product more quickly than the face because it is not as closely cared for. The Chrysalis peel system can be used to treat all skin, but must not be used on any mucosal tissue (nasal cavity, lips, eye rim, privates, etc)

• For many of the skin conditions involving more intensive Neothesis, you can stay with the standard application mix / 30 minute treatment and achieve nearly identical skin remodeling results by adding a 5th treatment (2-3 weeks after #4) or 6th treatment (each 2-3 week interval after #4).
